Kirby Kid, Brave Girl, Homeschooler

Alexis Britt

Alexis Britt- 10th Grader Alexis began homeschooling with Kirby Kids tutoring services in 7th grade.

Her family wanted to see her thrive in a safe, supportive, encouraging environment that would foster and enrich her individual talents and abilities! We quickly learned that Alexis is a very gifted writer! As a homeschooler, she has written her own book that we hope to publish one day, several poems and journal articles and has had many opportunities to let her talents shine through as an author!

Due to the flexibility of homeschool, Alexis was able to take a summer Psychology course, several other online courses, and today is excelling in courses like Home Economics, American Sign Language 1, Algebra 1, Marine Biology, World Geography and English Honors 2.

Even with a rigorous course load, Alexis has consistently made time to give back and volunteer. In her 9th grade year, Alexis logged 100 hours of community service at Williston Animal Group, satisfying her volunteer requirements towards a Bright Future’s Scholarship. In addition to volunteering at WAG, Alexis can be seen volunteering at Kirby Farm’s Scary Train, Christmas Train, and is a part of Kirby Farm’s Brave Girls outreach. With other Brave Girls, Alexis recently took part in hosting a Kirby Kids Bible study night where she led VBS dances, participated in a skit on stage, and mentored to other young girls.

Over the course of her homeschooling journey, Alexis has gone from a shy and quiet student to a fun-loving dancing Gingerbread mascot and a racing inflatable T-Rex at last year’s homeschool field day! She also LOVES to get up and debate hot topics and is passionate about the environment and humanitarian work! This year, Alexis stepped out of her comfort zone and joined Kirby Kids Drama Club where she landed the comedic role of Beetlejuice that she will play in this year’s production of “Save Broadway!” She also participated in Detectives Club where she learned to navigate her way through an escape room and think like an investigator!

Alexis is currently preparing for her PERT exam and plans to dual enroll for some courses next year. She has a 4.0 GPA, and is wanting to pursue a business degree. As an award winning student, Alexis was recently one of few students selected to attend a summer learning program at the White House in Washington, D.C.!

Alexis, you are an amazing young lady with a bright future ahead! We are so proud of all of your many accomplishments and hard work, and we can’t wait to see all you will do! Continue to believe in yourself and trust God to guide you on your path!
